People in 60 countries including India watch programmes of Bangladesh Television (BTV), BTV World and Sangsad Bangladesh Television.
Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu informed the parliament on Sunday while replying to a tabled question from treasury bench member Mohammad Subid Ali Bhuiyan, reports BSS.
"Indian viewers or cable operators are getting facility of watching programmes of BTV, BTV World and Sangsad Bangladesh Television through down linking," the minister said.
He said the BTV and private television channels are airing programmes in different countries in the world by cable TV network.
He added that theses programmes are also broadcast in many countries through online.
People of America, Canada and Malaysia are watching programmes of BTV through IPTV and Web TV.
An agreement signing with Indian Doordarshan for broadcasting Bangladesh Television's programmes is under process, Inu informed the House.
