2 killed in Jessore road crash

Two people have been killed when a truck turned turtle at Hashimpur Bazar on Jessore-Magura road in the district.

The deceased were identified as Waziullah, 60, son of Sohrab Ali, of Panchbaria village of Jessore and Matiar Rahman, 45, son of Fakir Ahmed, of Hashimpur.

Kotwali police station OC Shikdar Akkas Ali confirmed the deaths to the Dhaka Tribune.

Hospital sources said Waziullah and Matiar Rahman were gossiping in a tea stall in the bazaar after Sehri and Fazr prayer.

All on a sudden, a Noapara-bound truck from Dhaka turned turtle in the area at 5:30am on Saturday, leaving them dead on the spot.

On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to Jessore Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
