A schoolgirl has been gang-raped allegedly by her boyfriend and his three cohorts in the district's Muradnagar upazila.
Muradnagar police station Inspector (Investigation) Bipul Bhatta said: “Locals rescued the girl on Friday afternoon and the victim, aged about 15, filed a rape case against four persons, including her boyfriend.
“However, the locals failed to capture any of the criminals. Operation is underway to catch them.”
According to the case statement, hailing from Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria, the girl went to meet her boyfriend Rustam, son of Mostafa, of Muradnagar's Gazipur village on Thursday morning.
From where, Rustam along with his three cohorts-- Khairul, Rubel and Naim confined the girl to a house at Kashimpur village and violated her.
Sensing the matter, locals informed the police.
Later, Muradnagar police along with local UP Chairman Abu Bakkar raided the house and rescued the nine grader.
