Activists of Mission Safe Road for Everyone have submitted a memorandum to the roads and bridges minister demanding safe roads for all during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr vacation.
Shamiul Alim Shawon, the initiator of the Rajshahi-based social awareness building organisation, and activist Shubho submitted the memorandum to the office of district deputy commissioner on Thursday for handing it over to the minister.
The four-point memorandum requests Minister Obaidul Quader to take effective measures in stopping accidents on highways during the Eid vacation, said a press statement.
The memorandum also urges the minister to tackle problems like traffic congestion and roads and footpath grabbing by vendors during the vacation.
