70 Rohingyas held in Ukhia

They were arrested from Thaingkhali of Palangkhali union in Ukhia and Unnachiprang under Hoaingkang union in Teknaf. Ukhia police OC Md Abul Khair said that 62 Rohingyas along with two middlemen were caught while hiding in bushes from Ukhia area early yesterday. Of them, 34 are children and 15 women – all hailing from Jumbunia village in Akiyab of Myanmar. He said that the middlemen had brought the arrestees into Bangladesh in exchange for money. On other hand, eight Rohingyas were arrested with two middlemen at the Teknaf boarder early yesterday, Teknaf police OC Md Abdul Majid said.
