Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (Wasa), Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Deputy Commissioners Office have agreed to work together to resolve the water-logging crisis in the capital, said a press release of Wasa.
The high-ups of the three government bodies took the decision after DNCC Mayor Annisul Huq, Wasa Managing Director Taqsem A Khan and high officials of the DC Office visited water-logged low lands in Mirpur in the capital yesterday.
Earlier, Mayor Annisul visited the capital’s West Nakhalpara on Saturday. During his visit, the local residents complained over the malodorous water supplied in the area. Following the complaint, the mayor directed the Wasa authorities to take immediate initiatives to resolve the crisis of pure drinking water in the area.
Annisul also directed the officials of Wasa to solve the water logging issue immediately, according to the press release.
