Fitra, a charity done by solvent Muslims at the end of Ramadan, has been fixed at Tk 60 for this year.
A meeting at Islamic Foundation decided the minimum rate on Wednesday, says a press statement.
Last year the amount was Tk65.
The money equivalent to the market price of 1.65kg of wheat or flour, or 3.3 kg of raisin or cheese could be distributed among the poor as Sadkatul Fitr or Fitra before the Eid-ul-Fitr congregation.
According to Islamic rituals it is Wazib for all the solvent Muslims to give Fitra.
A father must pay the Fitra for his adolescent children and distribute it before the Eid-ul-Fitr congregation.
