A fire has broken out at the slum near Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (FDC) level crossing in capital's Karwan Bazar.
Fire service control room duty officer Ataur Rahman told the Dhaka Tribune that the fire originated at the slum around 11:50am Tuesday.
He said one unit of fire fighters took the fire under control around 12 noon.
However, the cause of the fire and estimated damage could not be known immediately.
