5 killed as train hits human hauler in Narayanganj

Five people have been killed in the capital as a train hit a human hauler at the Madhya Rasulpur rail crossing under Fatullah upazila of Narayanganj around 12am Tuesday.

Witnesses said a train hit the human hauler when it was crossing the rail gate.

Being hit, the human hauler fell on the fruit sellers beside the rail gate. 

One person died on spot.

The locals rushed 12 other injured to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the doctors declared four persons including a woman dead, Md Mojammel Haque, one of the rescuers told Dhaka Tribune. 

Among the injured were fruit seller Abhilash Babu, 35, Atiya Akhter China, 30, her son Sakib, 12, Nure Alam Gazi, 50, Md Asad Mia, 37, Mortuza Ali, 28.

Among the injured, three were in critical condition. 

Inspector Mojammel Haque of DMCH outpost also confirmed the deaths.
