BGB Naik Abdur Razzak, who has been abducted by the Myanmar border force, has become father of a baby boy.
Asma Begum, wife of Abdur Razzak, gave birth to the child on Sunday noon at Baliabari village under Singra upazila in Natore.
However, the arrival of the newborn could not bring joy to the family as they are looking forward to Razzak's return.
Razzak's father Tofazzal Hossain said he named his grandson Rahin.
He urged the government to take steps to bring his son back.
The BGB Naik along with his SMG was abducted by Myanmar’s Border Guard Police in the Naf River near Jadimura area of Teknaf border in Cox’s Bazar on June 17. In the incident another Border Guard Bangladesh member Biplob was shot.
The BGB protesting Razzak’s captivity on Friday sent an e-mail and fax messages to Myanmar.
The Foreign Ministry of Bangladesh also summoned Myanmar Ambassador to Dhaka Myo Mint Than on Thursday to protest shooting on the border and abduction of Razzak.
