A man has hacked his five-year-old son and three other relatives to death over family dispute in Adibasi Palli of Vrimpur Taltola village in the district's Panchbibi upazila.
The killer, Sumon Hembron, has been arrested immediately after the incident from the same house, said Panchbibi police station OC Abu Hena Mustafa Kamal.
The OC told the Dhaka Tribune: “Sumon hacked his five-year-old son Sunny, mother-in-law Sandhya Rani Marandi, 60, sister-in-law Teresa Marandi, 20, and uncle-in-law Markel, 50, to death over family dispute around 4am Saturday.
“Sumon's wife Sylvia Hemron, 22, has been rescued in critical condition and admitted to Shaheed Zia Medical College and Hospital in Bogra.”
Quoting locals, police said Sumon, who stayed with his in-laws at their house, locked in an altercation with his wife Sylvia, blaming her for an extra-marital affair.
At one stage of quarrel, he started hacking her. Hearing the hue and cry, other family members rushed in and Sumon attacked them while they were trying to rescue Sylvia.
