Mustafizur-Dhoni fined

Update : 19 Jun 2015, 10:44 AM

Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman and Indian skipper MS Dhoni have been fined for their on-field collision during Thursday's ODI match in Mirpur.

Dhoni and Mustafizur had been summoned by match referee Andy Pycroft after the match.

The Indian skipper has been fined 75% of his match fee while Mustafizur was fined 50% of his match fee for the incident.

The incident which occurred in the 25th over of the Indian innings sparked a lot of debate after it appeared that Dhoni had deliberately shoved Mustafizur out off his way while completing a run.

The Bangladeshi debutante was forced off the field for a while but returned to bowl Bangladesh to victory with a five-wicket haul.

Dhoni ran into the bowler, who was watching the fielder picking up the ball.

The incident looked ugly on TV and was unlikely to be taken lightly by the match officials. The Indian camp was hoping for a Level 1 charge as a Level 2 offence could have led to a ban, according to a PTI report.
