Dhaka Medical College Teachers' Samity has urged the government to rearrange the salary of medical teachers rationally as per their designations in the proposed national pay scale.
It claimed that the grade of the medical teachers has been lowered in the new pay scale.
The call was made through a press release signed on Wednesday by Dr Debesh Chandra Talukder, general secretary of Dhaka Medical College Teachers' Samity.
He threatened to take to the streets with the teachers unless their demands are met.
The demands include amending the present grade and following the past one, keeping professors to the rank of senior secretary like public university teachers, and ensuring due facilities during promotion or working in remote areas.
