A fire has broken out at Gazi Tower in New Market area of the port city of Chittagong.
Jasim Uddin, deputy assistant director of Fire Service and Civil Defence Head Quarters in Chittagong, told the Dhaka Tribune that the fire broke out at the third floor of the Gazi Tower around 8:30pm on Saturday.
After one and half an hour of frantic effort, the fire fighters of two units brought the blaze under control at 10:30pm, he added.
The fire official said the cause behind the fire could not be known yet.
Moreover, the losses incurred from the fire could not be ascertained immediately.
