Air Marshal Abu Esrar has officially taken over as chief of the Air Staff, said a press release issued by the ISPR.
Abus Esrar, named chief of the Air Staff on June 5, took charge from predecessor Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari at a ceremony at Chief of Air Staff’s secretariat on Friday afternoon.
Principal Staff Officers along with other senior officers of Bangladesh Air Force Headquarters were present during the occasion.
Earlier on Thursday, the newly appointed Chief of Air Staff was adorned with the rank badges of Air Marshal by Chief of Army Staff General Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan and Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral M Farid Habib at Ganabhaban.
He will remain Air Chief for three years – from June 12, 2015 afternoon to June 12, 2018 afternoon, a Defence Ministry notification published.
