More than 400 students of a secondary school have walked out of class, boycotted examinations, marched and locked the school doors, protesting sexual harassment with their fellow girl at Victoria Secondary School of Wazirpur upazila of Barisal.
The agitating students on Wednesday have demanded immediate arrest of harasser and removal of the school headmaster.
Witness said more than 400 students of Vicoria Secondary School boycotted their second terminal examinations and locked the school’s entrance after the information as a class IX girl of the school abducted, molested and sexually harassed near the school while she was returning home after attending examination on Tuesday afternoon.
Later, sensing screaming, locals rescued the girl but harassers managed to flee the scene.
The accused is Rana Fakir, son of school managing committee member Barek Fakir, his associates Bellal Haoladar and Md Arif and Mozammel Hossain, headmaster of the school, for patronising the group after the incident.
In contact with the Dhaka Tribune, headmaster of the school denied allegation against him.
A meeting of the school managing committee also called to review the situation, the headmaster informed.
Father of victim lodged a case in this connection with Wazirpur police station on Tuesday night.
Sub Inspector Gazi Shamimur Rahman of Wazirpur police station, also investigation officer of the case, confirmed the Dhaka Tribune saying police are trying to arrest the accused.
