Bangladesh Association of software & Information services (BASIS) has urged the government to withdraw 4% VAT on online business proposed in the budget.
The e-commerce alliance termed the proposed VAT a negative attitude towards flourishing growth and development in the coming fiscal year 2015-16.
BASIS e-commerce alliance representing the country’s e-commerce sector said this at a press conference held at its office in the capital yesterday.
BASIS President Shameem Ahsan, Vice-President Russell T Ahmed, Secretary General Uttam Kumar Paul, Convenor Fahim Mashroor, Co-Convenor Shah Imrul Kayeesh, Executive Director Sami Ahmed spoke at the conference.
