Two people including a five- year-old boy have been killed in separate accidents at Mirsarai and Hathazari upazila in Chittagong.
The deceased are Mominul Haque, 26, son of Ajir Uddin, hailed from Kurigram district and Md Tawsif, 5, police sources said.
Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) police outpost Nayek Jahangir Alam said Monimul, an electrician of iron manufacturing company of BSRM, was electrocuted inside the factory at Baraiyarhat area of the upazila around 1pm on Tuesday.
Later, he was rushed to CMCH where on duty doctors declared him dead, Nayek Jahangir said.
Meanwhile, five- year-old Tawsif was crushed under the wheels of a brick-laden truck at Hathazari municipality area in the morning while crossing the road, said Hathazari police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Arifuzzaman Khan.
The boy died on the spot, the police official said.
Police seized the truck. However, driver and his assistance managed to escape the scene, the SI also informed.
