After three-day long work abstention programme on the campus, Chittagong University Teachers’ Association (CUTA) has staged a sit-in programme protesting the proposed 8th National Pay Scale what the teachers said its “discriminatory” for them.
The demonstrating teachers observed an-hour long sit-in at Buddhijibi Chattar area on the campus started from 11am on Thursday demanding reform the pay scale and an independent pay scale for the university teachers.
Earlier the teachers had gone three-day long work abstention programme on the campus from May 31 to June 2 to realise the same demands while CUTA also formed human chain and held press conference in this issue.
CUTA president Professor Dr Abul Mansur presided over the rally where CUTA general secretary Professor Dr SM Khusrul Alam Quddusi, Professor Dr Abdul Karim, Prof Dr Mahbubur Rahaman, Prof Kamrul Huda, among others, addressed at the rally during the protest programme.
