After arriving in Dhaka, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweets a greeting in Bangla.
"Hello Bangladesh. I bring with me the affection & goodwill of the people of India [Bangladesh, ami amar sathe Bharoter manusher valobasha ebong suvechcha niye eshechi]," Modi tweeted both in Bangla and English.
He also thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the warm welcome.
In his tweet, Modi said he was looking forward to a very good visit that will strengthen ties between India and Bangladesh.
Modi has been accorded a red carpet reception on his arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
After arrival at the airport, the Indian prime minister was given a guard of honour by a smartly turned out contingent drawn from three services.
Accompanied by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the Indian premier took salute from a decorated dais. He later inspected the guard. The national anthems of the two countries were played at that time.
