Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the warm welcome.
"Thank you PM Sheikh Hasina for the warm welcome. I look forward to a very good visit that will strengthen ties between India and Bangladesh," Modi tweeted after he arrived in Dhaka on a two-day official visit on Saturday morning.
Modi has been accorded a red carpet reception on his arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
After arrival at the airport, the Indian prime minister was given a guard of honour by a smartly turned out contingent drawn from three services.
Accompanied by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the Indian premier took salute from a decorated dais. He later inspected the guard. The national anthems of the two countries were played at that time.
