Finance Minister AMA Muhith has placed the annual budget proposal around Tk2.95tn (Tk295,000 crore) for 2015-16 fiscal year.
While speaking at the house on Thursday, Muhith proposed decrease of value added taxes on a number of imported products and commodities.
Prices of different plastic products will fall due to 10% to 15% VAT decrease.
Besides, commodities like glucose, white chocolate, biscuits, toasts, jam, jelly, mosquito coil, toilet paper, different attires for men and women, undergarments, toothpaste, spectacle, sanitary napkin and local toys will get less costly.
