A man has been killed and at least six people have been injured when a bus turned turtle, as two buses were trying to overtake another in the capital’s Karwan Bazar.
Traffic inspector Khaldemul Islam confirmed the death to the Dhaka Tribune.
The deceased was the helper of a bus. The details could not be known immediately, the police official said.
He added: “The incident took place at 6:15pm on Wednesday, when two passenger buses were competing to overtake each other.”
At one stage, one of the buses turned turtle and a passenger of the bus died on the spot. At least six people were injured at the time. They were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
