BTRC asked to take steps against auto renewal of packages

Telecommunication Division came up with the call as mobile phone subscribers lodged complaint to the regulator. An official of the Telecom Division said the directive came to protect subscriber’s interest through a meeting held recently chaired by the State Minister for Telecommunication Tarana Halim. “From now on, mobile operators will have to take permission before running any packages so that subscribers can not face any difficulties,” said the official.
