The premiere of an enviornmental tele-film “Gachhbandhu” was held at a studio of Private Television Station Channel I.
The first Bangladeshi tele-film on nature and environment with a script by writer Emdadul Haque Milon, has been directed by Arun Chowdhury.
It has a string of fresh new faces as well as renowned senior artistes in the cast. Abul Hayat, Sharmili Ahmed, Moutushi Biswas, Roman Sarwar, Bahta Nadi, Esha and Jahin, among others, play major roles in the tele-film.
The story revolves around the life of a middle-class girl Lata, and her love for nature, especially for trees. But her parents are disturbed with her belief that trees have emotions. They think that their daughter might have developed mental sickness.
Out of frustration, Lata's father cuts one of her favourite trees which turns Lata more depressed. Finally, she becomes successful in changing the mindset of her parents and in a turn of the event, her father plants a number of trees around their house.
“Gachhbandhu” is initiated by Prokriti O Jibon Foundation in association with Impress Telefilm.
