Mobile courts will be conducted to ensure food safety for the people of the country, Food Minister Md Qamrul Islam has said.
He made the statement while talking to journalists after a meeting with US Ambassador to Bangladesh Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat at the secretariat on Tuesday afternoon.
The minister said: “Within a day or two, the Home Ministry will issue a gazette notification for conducting mobile courts to ensure safe food.”
He said the government has taken an initiative to implement the Safe Food Act 2009.
Regarding rice exports, Qamrul said: “A market is being created in Africa and other countries in order to export Bangladeshi rice.”
The US ambassador has assured to help Bangladesh for food sufficiency, he added.
