An alleged criminal has been killed and another injured in a “gunfight” with police in Jatrabari area of the capital.
The deceased is Natai Sohel, 25.
Jatrabari Sub-Inspector Assaduzzaman said: “Natai Sohel and Sajeeb, 22, received bullet wounds in the incident around 12 midnight Sunday.”
“They were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where Natai Sohel died around 1am Monday,” he said.
Mozammel Hoque, in-charge of DMCH police outpost, said Sajeeb has been sent to Pongu Hospital.
The SI said Natai Sohel was an accused in several cases including murder.
