The country’s four leading business associations have sought cash incentives and allowing black money whitening in the next budget.
The leaders of the four associations came up with the demands at separate meetings with the Finance Minister AMA Muhith held at his secretariat office in the city yesterday.
The four associations are–Bangladesh Carmine Wears Manufacturing Association, Bangladesh Furniture Exporters Association, Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh and Bangladesh Garment Accessory and Packaging Manufacturing and Exporters’ Association.
After the meeting with the four associations, the minister said, “I have not given any promises to the leaders of Associations as per their demands”.
Leader of the Real state and housing association has demanded to create a fund of Tk 20,000 cr along with given black money whitening facilities to the country real state sector .
President of REHAB AlamgirShamsulAlamin, said“We want to sell small flat of 1,500 square feet but the potential flat owners will get 7 to 8 % interest loan from country banking sector”
Chairman of the Ceramic Wear’s Manufacturing Association and law maker Sirjul Islam Molla said We have wanted 10% cash incentive for that sector and reduce the import tax on imported raw-material of tiles, sanitary wear,, ceramic gases.
Finance minister said “How long ceramic sector are gaining their capacity to protect from foreign import” .
Matter of cash incentive will not be decided in the budget but after budget we will review the matter , he said.
