A yaba trader has been killed in a "gunfight" between two groups drug peddlers at Teknaf in Cox's Bazar early Sunday.
The deceased is Syed Nur Prokash alias Sona Mia, 30, son of Sikdar Ali of Ulusamari village.
Teknaf OC Ataur Rahman Khandakar said: "Being informed about the shootout between two groups, police rushed to the spot and found Sona Mia injured with bullet.
He died on way to hospital, said the OC.
Police also recovered two guns and eight cartridges from the spot.
OC Ataur Rahman said Sona Mia was accused in 10 cases filed for yaba trading and smuggling.
