Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB) has recently signed an agreement to set up a double circuit 70km Ashuganj-Bhulta 400 kilovolts high voltage transmission line in the country.
The project will help transmit electricity from the two power plants under construction in Ashuganj. The state-owned PGCB and India’s KEC International Ltd inked the deal at the former’s headquarters.
Md Ashraf Hossain, PGCB company secretary, and KK Sinha, country Head of KEC International Ltd, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
The new transmission line will be built from Brahmanbaria’s Ashuganj to Bhulta in Narayanganj. The estimated cost of the project is around Tk280 crore.
According to the agreement, the Indian firm will complete construction within 20 months.
