Update : 20 May 2015, 07:26 PM

As entrepreneurs from China are keen in investing more in Bangladesh, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed assured them of all possible assistance in doing business here.

“We will welcome more investment from China offering the Chinese investors various types of assistance for doing good business here,” he said, inaugurating the office of the Bangladesh-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) in the capital city yesterday.

Referring to the initiatives of establishing 17 special economic zones (SEZs) in different parts of the country, he said interested Chinese investors would have the opportunity of establishing their business there.

Tofail said China had long been contributing to the development of Bangladesh providing financial, technical and other necessary supports to develop infrastructure and increase bilateral trade and business.

For example, the minister cited that Chinese entrepreneurs have already made big investment in different sectors and projects.

Besides, he said more investment would come in the projects including an industrial park in Munshiganj and the planned permanent venue in Purbachal for the international trade fair.

“I hope, the BCCCI would help increase further to bring in more investment from China and boost bilateral trade and business,” the minister said.

Prime Minister adviser Salman F Rahman, Chinese ambassador Ma Mingqian and BCCCI President Gulam Dastagir Gazi also addressed the function.
