A man has been killed and eight others have received injuries in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a goods-laden truck in the district's Baraigram upazila.
The deceased is Mohammad Ali, a newly converted Muslim.
Witnesses and police said a Dhaka-bound bus collided head-on with a goods-laden truck near Airmari bridge area on Banpara-Hatikumrul Highway around 6:30am Tuesday, leaving Ali dead on the spot and eight others injured.
The injured have been admitted to Natore Sadar Hospital and local clinics.
Fuwad Ruhani, OC of Banpara highway police camp, said they seized the bus, however, could not seize the truck.
