A retired army man has been hacked to death following previous enmity at Shashabaria village under Gopalganj sadar upazila.
The deceased is Lakku Molla, 63, brother of Paikandi UP member Makku Molla.
Gopalganj sadar OC Jakir Hossain Molla said UP member Makku Molla and former UP member Khokon Molla had disputes over establishing supremacy.
"Following the enmity, supporters of Makku Molla's rival group hacked his brother Lakku Molla on Tuesday morning," said the OC.
He was rushed to Gopalganj 250-Bed Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
Additional police have been deployed in the area after the incident, OC Jakir Hossain said.
