A Chhatra League activists has been shot dead by miscreants at Amani Lakshmipur village under sadar upazila.
The deceased is Mamunur Rashid Khan, son of Abu Toiyob of the village.
Chandraganj union Awami League President Nizam Uddin confirmed Mamun's identity as a Chhatra League activist.
Police and local sources said miscreants shot Mamun when he was returing home from Noakhali around 10pm Monday.
He died on way to Noakhali Medical College Hospital. Then, locals took his body to Chandraganj police station.
Later, the body was sent to sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police said Mammun was an active member of criminal group Kawsar Bahini.
Lakshmipur Police Super Shah Mizan Shafiur Rahman said Mamun might have been killed by another criminal group Jishan Bahini.
