Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated a bridge named after her on Mohananda river in Chapainawabganj.
The prime minister reached Chapainawabganj new stadium around 1pm Saturday and then inaugurated the bridge.
The 547-metre long bridge has been constructed at a cost of Tk49.76 crore.
Sheikh Hasina will address a public meeting organised by district Awami League on Nababganj Government College ground at 4pm.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Shikder, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam, State Minister for ICT Division Junaid Ahmed Palak, former mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton and local parliament members and Awami League leaders were present on the occasion.
With the inauguration of the bridge, more than five lakh people of seven unions under sadar upazila which remain isolated from the upazila and district headquarters will immensely benefit from it.
