Centring the tomorrow’s visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the district has been experiencing a busy and festive mood among the locals to give a warmth reception to her.
The whole district town is getting facelift touch, in line with which repair works of roads and bridges is also going on. Besides, the district has been covered with archways, banners and festoons.
Sources said the PM would inaugurate new projects promised by her earlier.
The residents of seven unions located in remote char lands were very upbeat as the PM is going to inaugurate the newly-built bridge, the only linking bridge to the Sadar upazila with their localities.
Emancipation from the long-pending suffering ensued for want of the bridge gave them a great relief, sources added.
Earlier, the local unit AL called a rally on Nawabganj Government College ground, where the PM was supposed to address it in the afternoon. The district’s SP Bashir Ahmad said a four-tier security measures have already taken there.
Intelligence surveillance has been beefed up and raids at the criminals’ den are also going on, the SP continued.
Chapainawabganj 3 MP Abdul Odud admitted the all-out preparations regarding the visit.
