A woman has died when a speedy-driven bus hit a rickshaw from behind in the capital's Keraniganj on Monday afternoon.
The deceased is Sogina Akhter, 25.
Family members said Sogina along with her son left Tangail fro her sister's house in Keraniganj on Monday morning. She got down from the bus at Gulistan bus stand and took a rickshaw.
On her way to sister's house, a speedy-driven bus of Shikor Paribahan hit the rickshaw from behind, leaving Sogina critically injured.
She was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared her dead around 5pm, said SI Mojaharul Islam of Keraniganj police station.
“With the help of the locals, the police seized the bus and arrested the driver immediately after the incident.”
