Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu has said failure of politicians may damage democracy, but the media’s failure could destroy it.
He called upon the media not to evaluate development builders with arsonists.
The minister was speaking at a function yesterday at Karwan Bazar to celebrate 10 years of the founding of Bangla daily Bhorer Pata.
In his speech, the information minister described the mass media as the eternal sentinels of democracy.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon was present at the function.
