Twenty female students of a school at Sreepur upazila in Gazipur have fallen ill due to scorching heat.
Headmaster Kamal Hossain Molla of Ijjatpur High School said: "Class six students complained of feeling nausea and dizziness in the classroom around 10:30am Saturday. Within minutes, 20 students fell unconscious."
Of the ailing students, 11 were taken to Sreepur upazila health complex while nine others were sent to their homes after primary treatment at the school.
The school authorities declared it closed for the day after the incident.
Sreepur upazila health complex doctor Afroza Sharmin said the students have been fallen ill because of scorching heat.
