The Bombay High Court has suspended the five-year imprisonment awarded to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in the 2002 hit-and-run-case.
The India court gave the order on Friday afternoon, reports The Times of India.
According to the order, the bail amount for the actor was extended by the court.
He was granted interim bail on Wednesday hours after he was sentenced to five years in the 2002 hit-and-run-case.
Earlier, Salma's lawyer appealed to the court seeking suspension of the judgement. The hearing of appeal will be in July.
On Wednesday, Salman was sentenced to five years in prison for killing a homeless man in a 2002 hit-and-run driving incident in Mumbai. He was charged with culpable homicide.
Later, he was granted an interim bail for two days when his lawyers filed for an appeal against his sentence at the Bombay High Court.
