Three platoons of army personnel have been deployed in Daudkandi upazila of Comilla ahead of the upazila election slated for May 9.
Deputy Commissioner Hasanuzzaman Kollol said the army was deployed from Thursday morning.
He said three platoons army, three platoons BGB, four teams of RAB, 960 police personnel and 1140 Ansar members will perform duty during the election.
Besides, eight executive magistrates will monitor law and order situation in the upazila during the election.
There are 239,754 voters in the upazila. Six persons are contesting for chairman post, 13 for vice-chairman and six for women vice-chairman posts.
