UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has told Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to find a political way forward between all the parties in Bangladesh.
The UN chief made the call during telephonic conversation with the Bangladesh prime minister on Friday, said Stéphane Dujarric, spokesman for the secretary-general.
"The Secretary-General, I think, expressed his opinion in the way we've been expressing it here, which is to call to find a political way forward between all the parties in Bangladesh," said the spokesperson at a daily press briefing at UN Headquarters in New York on Monday.
Stéphane came up with the comments responding to a question- what exactly Secretary‑General told Bangladesh Prime Minister and her press secretary immediate after polls to Dhaka and Chittagong City Corporations in Bangladesh.
“You know, we do not have a readout to share,” he added.
