5 RMG workers injured as police charge baton

Five workers of a readymade garment factory have been injured after police charged baton on them during a demonstration programme in front of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) building in the capital.

Of the injured, two are operators Roksana and Jakir.

The workers of Swan Garments Ltd were staging demonstration in front of BGMEA building on Monday afternoon, demanding the payment of their five-month due salaries.

The law enforcers charged batons on the workers that left five injured, our Correspondent Ibrahim Hossain Ovi reported from the spot.

Later, BGMEA authorities took the injured RMG workers to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment.
