Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has vowed to reduce poverty in Bangladesh.
She came up with the vow at her May Day speech at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka Friday afternoon.
She said in the rest of her tenure, more 10% poverty will be curbed.
While addressing the programme marking the historic May Day, the prime minister also said the government is working on to ensure the proper facilities for women workers.
“The government has taken several steps to ensure the rights of the workers in its tenure,” she said.
In her speech the prime minister also condemned the attacks on the working people by BNP and Jamaat in the name of movement.
