Rail communications on Dhaka-Chittagong, Dhaka-Sylhet and Chittagong-Sylhet routes have been restored after about seven hours halt as a freight train derailed at Comilla Sadar South Upazila.
Loksham Railway Junction Locoshed In-charge Md Mizanur Rahman said rail communications started at 4pm on Friday.
The rail communications has been cut off after two wheels of a goods-laden train derailed in at Alishor Comilla around 8:45am.
A salvage train from Loksham went to the spot around 10:30am.
Comilla Railway Station Assistant Master Md Abu Taher said: “Chittagong-bound Jalalabadh Express has got stuck in Comilla due to the derailment.”
None was however hurt in the derailment, he confirmed.
