A motorcyclist was killed and another injured after a truck hit their motorcycle in Bhatara’s Sayeed Nagar area on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Sumon, 20, a grill worker, son of Nurunnabi Liton and resident of Azizullapur village in Noakhali Sadar upazila. He had been living in the New Market area of Bhatara.
His friend, Rabiul, 22, was also injured in the accident.
According to Rabiul, they were riding around on Sumon’s motorcycle when a truck hit them in Sayeed Nagar area. They were thrown off the motorcycle and seriously injured.
They were taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctor declared Sumon dead at around 10:00pm.
SI Md Selim Hossain of the DMCH police outpost confirmed the death, saying the body had been kept in the hospital morgue and the matter reported to the relevant police station.
