Three injured as AC compressor blasts at IEB

One of the injured in sin critical condion, says resident physian pf the hospital

Three technicians were injured in a compressor pipe explosion while repairing an air conditioner at the hall room of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in Ramna, Dhaka, on Tuesday around 1:30pm.

They were later rescued and taken to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute for treatment.

The injured were identified as Md Mamun, Mohammad Rasul and Ratan Chandra.

Abdul Malek, a colleague who accompanied them to the hospital, said the incident occurred during AC repair work when a compressor pipe suddenly exploded, injuring the three workers.

Resident physician at the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute Dr Shawon Bin Rahman said Mamun suffered burns on 35 percent of his body, Rasul on 6 percent and Ratan Chandra on 7 percent. Mamun is in critical condition, while the others are undergoing treatment.
