Nuruzzaman Ahmed, state minister for food, has been given the charge of Social Welfare Ministry as a state minister.
The government made the little change in the cabinet on Sunday, said Shafiul Alam, cabinet secretary.
“Nuruzzaman will be worked as a state minister (minister in-charge) for the Social Welfare Ministry,” he told the reporters.
He will also be released from the charge of state minister for existing food ministry, he added.
The post fell vacant following the death of state minister for social welfare Promode Mankin on May 11.
Lawmaker Nuruzzaman Ahmed (Lalmonirhat-2) was made state minister for food on July 14, 2015.
