Tipu Sultan, son of Zabbar, claimed: “A group of people introducing themselves as plainclothes law enforcers picked up my father and a relative into a car from Gulistan area on October 25 while I and that relative went there to meet my father.”
He came up with his claim in a press briefing at the Jessore Press Club yesterday.
He said: “His father had come to the city to get bail in UP member Rahazzan Sardar murder case.”
Zabbar is the prime accused in the case filed over killing Rahazzan Sardar, an Awami League-backed Union Parishad member at Godikhali Bazar under Jhikargachha upazila of the district, on October 13.
Tipu, also a university student, said: “After this incident, I went to Paltan police station to file a complaint but the police did not take my complaint.”
He also alleged that he visited the offices of law enforcers but failed to get any information about his father.
Lily Aktar and Masud Raihan, wife and son of Zabbar respectively, were also present in the press briefing.
