Suspected JMB leader killed in Kushtia 'gunfight'

The deceased is Kulu Molla, 30, son of Kondu Molla of Purbo Math Para area and the regional commander of JMB. Kushtia DB OC Sabbirul Islam said: “Acting on a tip-off, a team of the DB conducted a drive in the area around 3am on Monday. “Sensing our presence, the JMB members opened fire at us.” In retaliation, DB police fired back that left Kulu bullet wounded while the others fled the scene. The doctors declared him dead when taken to Kushtia General Hospital. He said four policemen were injured in the incident. Meanwhile, a foreign-made pistol, two rounds of bullets and three machetes were recovered from the spot.
